Inner Beauty

Inner Beauty

A Poem by Tionge Rosalie Johnson

On a canvas I am,

the white drawing board with the red spot.

You like the Van Gogh, the Di Vinci, the Picasso.

Your favorite is Vincent's Starry Night,

with its intricate brush strokes and soft blue color patterns.

You look at it every time.

The smells of cigarette smoke still on your jacket.

Why do you not see my canvas?

Don’t pass by me,

Stop by, look closely.
