Choice Of Life

Choice Of Life

A Story by Darkest Rose

Ricky was falling and falling, lost in the darkness.Earlier that night Ricky had met someone who had seemed like a perfect gentleman , inviting Ricky into his home so he could use the phone, stupid of him to have left his car keys and mobile in his car, but no going back now.
Ricky wasn't all too sure where he was, a second ago he had been using the man's phone to call himself a cab and then he was dropping the phone and falling into utter darkness. He had been falling for about five minutes now and he was still waiting for the killing blow of the ground. But still it didn't come for him what did come was a very unexpected thing, he was suddenly slowing down, being turned so he was going to land feet first on the ground. What the hell was going on?!
Ricky waited for himself to land with the bone breaking crash but it didn't come instead he was lowered softly onto the ground almost like an invisible hand had been carrying him the last of the way down, but that wasn't  possible, hands you couldn't see were not real, there was no doubt in that.
'HELLO!? IS ANYONE HERE!?' Ricky's voice carried around in the darkness which made him think he was in a cave or in a very large space, which proved him very very wrong because suddenly light's came on...or maybe just a blindfold had been removed, and what Ricky had pictured of this weird place he was in was not at all what he had expected.
Looking around him he noted that he was on a cloud, with grass on it...wait grass!? That stuff doesn't grow on clouds but it seemed that it did on this one, apple trees, orange trees, peach trees and a pear tree grew all around this cloud, in lines but in between each row of tree there was a path and blocking each path was a large marble statue.
Peering closely at the statues he saw there where two female statues and two male statues all wearing togas and crowns of flowers but what made these statues weird was that they followed his every move with there eyes, if he turned to look to the side they followed. This was weird but he ignored the statues so he could look closer at his surroundings. The cloud was protected by a large floating glass house, and moving over to the door on the far side of the house he noticed there where to sets of stairs, one going up and one going down.
Shaking his head Ricky walked over to the first statue which was in between the two rows of apple trees 'Hello damned one, I am Helena, statue of the riches and the damned. If you so wish it I will give you all the riches you want but in return I must bring you to my land of the damned who have everything they want, but I control they're souls. Before you answer speak to my siblings and then return with your answer.'And with that she shut her eyes.
Moving onto the next statue between the two rows of orange trees 'Hello dearest one,I am Angel sister of Helena.I am the statue of the lost loved ones and the heart. If you wish it I can return you to the family you have lost because of they're deaths and you heart can be whole again.I ask for nothing in return but for you to be happy once more. Before you answer speak to my siblings and then return to me with your answer.' And just like Helena she shut her eyes.Ricky was starting to think he had already died.
Moving onto the statue between the two rows of peach trees he faced the third statue 'Hello lost one, I am Luke the brother of Helena' and Angel.I am the statue of the lost and the confused. If you want it to be I can return you to where you came from and clear your confusion but all I ask for in return is that if ever confused you send them to me so I may fix them as I so wish. Before you answer speak to my last sibling and then return to me with your answer.' And as before he shut his eyes on Ricky.
Sighing Ricky came to the statue between the two lines of pear trees he faced the fourth and final statue.'Hello travelling one, I am Travis the brother of Helena, Angel and Luke.I am the statue of the  travelling  souls. If you want I will let you travel far and wide to see whatever you may wish, but in return I need to be able to have you at my beck and call.If you so wish answer me now.'

Looking aghast Ricky blinked 'No...No thank you.' Travis shut his eyes so Ricky moved onto Luke 'No thank you for your offer.' Luke kept his eyes shut as if he had known the answer, moving onto Helena he said yet again 'No thank you I really don't want riches.'Finally coming to a stop at Angel he smiled and said 'Yes I will take your offer so I may see my family again.'

Angels eyes opened wide and she smiled 'So be it Dearest one, I invite you to my land so you may see your dear family again.'Sliding aside so Ricky could see what was behind her statue she shut her eyes again and what Ricky saw before his eyes made him blink twice then burst into tears. In front of him was his mother and father and younger sister, all smiling at him like he had came home from a little trip that lasted all of three days.Rushing forward he ran to his sister, his mother and his father he hugged them all tightly and walked forward into his new life with his family.

I'm really starting to enjoy the growth that you're experiencing as a writer! Small grammar things now :P.

In general, when speech is used, quotation marks ("") should be in place.
Edit 1:
He had been falling for about five minutes now and was still waiting for the killing blow of the ground, but it still didn't come for him. what did come was a very unexpected thing: he was suddenly slowing down, turning so he was going to land feet first on the ground. What the hell was going on?!

Now for the thematic and plot analysis. I really enjoyed how the mysterious unknown happenings of the beginning unfold themselves into the end. Also in terms of flow, I found that this story went very smoothly from beginning to end with virtually no sudden breaks, or that kind of stuff :P. Good job with this, and I'll probably continue my review sometime later. But this is what I have for now! Enjoy!

Woah... wow... i loved this ! I absolutely loved this story. So creative, and the imagery is so nice, it felt like i was there watching Ricky. So good... hmm and i think as for grammar mistakes; in this line you meant to write every instead of ever "but what made these statues weird was that they followed his ever move with there eyes" ... in this line i believe you meant to write the number two instead of to "far side of the house he noticed there where to sets of stairs, one going up and one going down." That's all i saw while reading... again, love this. : )

That was an interesting concept. Nice use of imagination. Their were a few spelling errors and missed spaces, but that was it

I absolutely adored the idea! The choices given by the omniscient for someone unsuspecting to make the right decision. However, in my own devious and over-thoughtful mind, I was expecting Angel to betray Ricky in her own way rather than everything turning out all good :P
