Katrina's Song

Katrina's Song

A Poem by Nathaniel Mann
"

Well.. It somehow started as a song about not doing things people want you to do. THan it evolved into teen prgnancy. DOnt ask how this happend.... "-.-

"

Well, where did you go?
The time between
Us is wearing thin
And I'm wondering how
Could you know the secrets
That nobody else
In my world knows

I'm waking up
I'm on my way
And nothing else
In your world
Could stop me today

(Chorus)
Because I won't walk more than a mile
Just to hide in your denial
And theres nothing more
That I can hold back now
Still, I'm not going to speak the truth
Well, maybe to this photo booth
It will picture all my doubts
But right now I don't need you here
Just get up and just get out

And now you're gone
You wont come back
Just send me a check
Pick up your slack
The line between us
Is breaking up
Like the love
We thought we had
What led to this
Was not that bad
But is a moment of pleasure
Worth a life?

I'm waking up
I'm on my way
And nothing else
In your world
Could stop me today

(Chorus)

We can meet under
The telephone wires
And extinguish all
Your signal fires
Just as long as you
Promise to come home

(Chorus, softly, with piano solo)

I really like it. I like the analogies like with the photo booth. That was my favorite line. You should write more!

I liked the flow to it. Some of the images were vague, but sense its a song, I think it works. I like the topic. a very important subject that young people need to be concerned with.

Great first piece!
