Chapter Sixteen

I breathed a huge sigh of relief when Fay finally came to. She woke in Beatrice's bedroom where we all crowded around her for the time she's been out. During that time, I couldn't help but worry about Greg finding out we are here and how the longer we stay here, the longer we're risking being caught. The last thing I want right now is getting Fay or Beatrice in anymore trouble with that guy then necessary.

Fay's beautiful electric blue eyes greeted me confusingly, probably wondering what the hell is going on. She tried to get up but I held her down, silently telling her to take it easy.

"What...what happened?" she asked groggily. Almost like awaking from sleep.

Beatrice answered for me.

"You fainted honey." Bea said gently rubbing her arm. "I think it's because you remembered something about my brother."

"Your brother?" Fay asked.

I looked worriedly at Fay.

"Do you remember what we were talking about earlier." I asked.

I was afraid that she might have forgotten everything do to her amnesia again.

Fay didn't answer. Instead, she closed her eyes and Bea and I waited in patient.

"Terrence." she suddenly said.

I nodded, a big smile spreading on my face.

"Yeah." I told her encouragingly. "Terrence. Do you remember anything about him?"

I grabbed onto her hand, hoping that would help a little. She smiled in response at me, reassuring me that she most definitely hasn't forgotten about me.

She looked thoughtful again.

"I--" she began. "I... don't know. Maybe... maybe if I see his face I could..."  She trailed off.

"It's okay." I tell her, squeezing her hand in reassurance.  "It's fine."

I turn to Bea.

"Is there anyway we could get a hold of your brother's number so we could, you know, get in touch with him?"

Bea scrambled to her feet.

"Of course, of course." she answered. "It's in the kitchen, let me go get it."

When Bea left the room, I turned my attention back to Fay.

"Ugh." Fay groaned. "My head hurts. When I fainted, did I hit the ground the that hard?"

I smiled at her attempted humor.

"Well, it was pretty unexpected, and you did hit the ground quite terrifyingly but I don't think it was hard enough to cause anything more than a slight head ache, promise. And as for the head ache, I think I brought a bottle of Advil along with me, probably because I knew Wenn was going to drive me crazy the whole way here."

"Wait." Fay interrupted, sitting up. "Wenn came with you? Where is he?"

"Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. He has my car. He says he had some business to take care off and drove off, but now... I don't know." I took out my phone. "I should call him. Who know's when that a*s of a guard will show up."

Fay suddenly looked shocked.

"Oh, uh sorry for calling him a*s, I just mean--"

"No, no." Fay told me.

She starts to frantically look and feel around her.

"My phone, where's my phone?"

I grab her phone from my pocket, where I stored it it from back at the hotel and hand it over to her. She takes it and frantically turns it on.

Seconds later, Fay's mono-toned voice speaks out to me.

"57 missed calls. 32 text messages. Greg Kegger."

The look Fay gave me just then had chills run down my neck and spine. The fear that clouded her face pained me to the extent that I could feel that exact fear of Greg showing up and catching us here together.

But truth be told, if it ever came down to fighting Greg one on one, then hell yeah I'd beat him up. My pride and ego are much too big to let something as little as fear keep my down. I'll have to teach Fay that someday. Greg is nothing to be scared of.

"We need to go." Fay said, already getting off the bed.

I don't argue with her.

It was when I was helping Fay shrug on her coat when Beatrice stepped into the room again.

"You guy's are leaving aren't you?" she asked.

Fay nodded.

"Yeah, we don't want to cause you any more trouble then we already have. But thank you, really. You were a huge help."

Bea smiled and nodded.

"Here's his phone number." she handed it to me. "I don't know if he's changed it over the past months but this is all I can do."

"Thank you." I tell her.

Bea nodded again.

"It was really good to see you again Fay, although on tricky terms but still, I'm glad you're alive."

"You too, Bea." Fay went over and grabbed her hands. "But don't think I'm just going to forget about you. I'll come visit you soon. Seems like you could use the extra company."

I watched, slightly cringing about the girly moment they were having right now.

"You two hurry up." I say impatiently, leaving the room.

"Nice to meet you too, Dominic." Bea called out to me.

I answered her with a backward wave.

"Pleasure's all mine."
