Do you see me?

Just started writing my feelings one day and this is what I came up with Sometimes life isn't fair but isn't that how life goes? Anyway, after I wrote it I definitely felt better.

Do you see me?

Are do you see a beauty that I don't
Confidence that I can't seem to locate
A person who is bossy
Do you think my life is perfect
Do you only see the cheerful
What do you see that makes you hate me?

I'll tell you what I see
A person who is trying to find a place in this world
A person who looks in the mirror and sees her imperfections
A person who weighs a bit too much and can't seem to lose the few extra pounds
A person who has had to fight for what she wants
A person who has her own struggles but does so quietly.

If only you would get to know me
Maybe then you would see
Who I am and what has made me the person you seem to hate

I don't need your approval, I only wish to be treated with some form of respect that I have definitely earned. If you don't think so then again you only see what you chose to see and it isn't me
