She uses beige make up to cover the bruises. Sometimes they're not as purple as they could be. Most of the time though, they are such a dark purple she thinks they don't even look like skin anymore. She cries at every strike and then she cries when she's all alone. She knows she needs to get away, to run and hide. She can't, though. People ask her why, but all she says is she just can't. Those people who look at her and see a battered woman. A woman who they think is weak, they don't know why she endures what she does. They don't know how strong she actually is. She goes through days of beatings, in order to keep his temper off the baby.
