Mom...I love you!

Mom...I love you!

A Poem by Life Calling!!!
"

This one goes out to all the mom's in the world!

"

Mom…I Love You!!!

How excited you must have been…

Eagerly waiting to hear my piercing screams

as I wailed my novel cry…for the very first time…

How impatient you must have been…

Begging the doctor to let you hold me once

so you could nurse me back to calm again…

How thrilled you must have been…

Trying to peep into my contorted face

as I lay hidden by your breast, working hard at suckling…

How fervent you must have been…

Attempting to make out from my wrinkled pale features

if I looked like you or your better half…

How anxious you must have been…

Scrutinising every moment of my growth

as I passed through stages both difficult and easy…

How alert you must have been…

Struggling to hold me safe and secure

as I took my first baby steps and stumbled…

How stressed out you must have been…

Contending with each and every whim of mine

as and when I came up with new and impossible demands…

How elated you must have been…

Beaming with pride and pleasure

at each success I countered in my life…

How concerned you must have been…

Coping with my whims and fancies

as I passed through the crucial tweens and teens…

How apprehensive you must have been…

Staying awake to welcome me with rebuke and hot food

whenever I overstayed a party, or went on a blind date

How jubilant you must have been…

Glowing with joy and satisfaction

as I graduated and then got settled in a career…

How hurt you must have been…

Attempting to come to terms with the fact

that your little daughter had grown up enough to demand her freedom…

How wounded you must have been…

Swallowing tears of pain and hurt

when I moved away from you…choosing my own happiness over yours…

Now,

I eagerly await the kicks in my bowel…

Trying to make out when the little one in me is moving…

And I imagine how thrilled you must have been for me…

How excited and anxious…elated and concerned…

So like a mother…

that I am going to be tomorrow…

that I am missing today…

Mom…I love you!!!

Author's Note

Life Calling!!!
This one was written when I was 4months pregnant...in Feb 2008...Now, I live with my mom, who spends her entire day running behind and caring for my 8 month old son! I hope all mom's young and old will appreciate this...and so will dads....and of course all and sundry too!

Do leave a review when you read this piece! Thanks!

Touching, sentimental, appreciative, absolutely vibrant, full of zest, humor, goodness love and sincere
sentiment, sculpted with subtlely endearing feaure, your words absolutely come to life,
and this was entirely a pleasure to read in the crafty skill alone, let alone the special quality
that makes your poem a wonderful ode to motherhood, I loved it, keep up the great work

So beautiful.
I'm not competent enough to critique this.
But for what it's worth,
A beautiful poem. :)

I thought this was a good read. I am sorry I can't offer anything constructive but I really did like it. I have a question though, how did you get that font?
