Argyle

Argyle

A Poem by Rogue
"

Prose/Experimental

"

Two socks...
One for each foot.
Threads meticulously knitted
as shapes take form
to be a part of the whole
it will eventually become
Two socks...
One for each foot.
Much needed comfort
with protection from harsh
and raw landscape
a warmth when there is chill.
Two socks...
One for each foot.
both displaying parts
of a grand design
in diamonds.
A girls best friend.

This poem is rich to the brim with excellent metaphors which goes deeper than just diamond shaped cloth patterns of socks or others. It is about the fabric of life which is cotton soft love knitted in the heart with exquisite threads that keeps us warm and comfortable. This grand design is one of nature's best ones . I think you are saying in this poem or prose that love has to fit right with the right shape and with the warmth - comfort aspect and be a part of the whole fabric of life...An excellent write...Thank you for sharing...:)

You weave a pattern beautifully throughout this poem, Rogue - got a vibe of "two becoming one" here. Like that reference at the end - while a man might long for a nice pair of socks, diamonds are still a girl's best friend! Enjoyed this!

Thank you, Brandon for stopping by and reading. I appreciate it. :)
Argyle is a beautiful part of my beloved Scotland. Two socks is a wolf and his is simply a beautifully pathos ridden poem about socks that you wear on your feet. Oh with a sly reminder about a girls best friend thrown in for good measure. Oh and its about protection as well.
