"Before you judge someone, you should always walk a mile in their shoes." - proverb

Shoe stores are always well stocked in my size.
My feet are a bit small comparably to others my age.
Rarely have I met another who wears the same.
As I pack these old pairs up to take to the second hand store, I wonder..
Will the next to put them on tread down the same path?

The first lines belie the true depth of this poem. A simple shoe story, so to speak, and yet a poem about life and paths we take and the prices we pay for those decisions. Berta, you have a way of saying plenty without using a lot of words. Nice!
