Flat CalmA Poem by RogueReflected on the still surface Streaks of life moving just below Orange, silver, blue and gold Racing about happily, playfully Further downward it grows colder Something stirs within the deep Coiling it's way around my leg Squirming upward to reach the light Gently, I pull it free of myself Lifting it out and into the day It screams in the brightness, writhing Trying to cast shadows about My fingers open in release Watching it sink back to the depths This does not belong in this world Better to let it sleep on in silence © 2013 RogueReviews
