I wrote this in 1993 after reading a Nurvana article in Rolling Stone. It made a great song. I think the meaning is as prevalent now as much as then...

Anger in the youth

Sleeping are the old

Light up a beacon

Or we are sold

Alleys in the shadows

In a total eclipse

Into the future

We slide

We slip

We'll fall

 

Here is much color

The hue of red

Lying in the street

We are the pain

No one knows much

But we know all

I feel your words rather deeply. I feel the struggle of my own youth sliding and slipping, and falling. You have a deep sense of knowing and express it quite meaningfully and profoundly. Great write. I also agree. I can hear the soulful music in this piece.

Great word usage, deep message. It really makes you stop and think about things, well really makes you stop and think about life and humans in general. I can see how this could come from a rolling stone article about Nirvana.
