A Poem by Panhead Rod
"

A poem about how material objects should not let us forget what life is truly all about...

"
...
Things and stuff...stuff and things...
some with whistles, bells, or rings...
Things we think we just must keep.
Stuff that makes us lose some sleep.
Things that break...then need fixed.
stuff in storage...in a mix...
Seems we have to work so hard...
for this stuff we then discard...
While our memories try to find,
all the good things left behind...
Thoughts of family, lovers, friends...
forgotten things that surely mend...
These don't fail, they won't quit...
So don't toss them in a pit...
Pull them out and polish them,
let them shine, just like a gem...
In that glow, you just may see...
how our lives were meant to be.

I agree with the composition. We should not worship material vanity; neither should we put money before people.

Yes indeed... We make way too much junk and forget how life intertwines with our environment...
