Perhaps

Perhaps

A Poem by Panhead Rod
"

A reflection of what aging can do to a person.

"
...
Perhaps I'm feeling haunted,
by youth that's passed away...
Perhaps it's all just in my mind...
as it goes astray...
...
Perhaps my bones are aching...
simply 'cause it's colder...
Perhaps it is the way it is...
because I'm getting older.
...
Perhaps it will get better...
as the days get longer...
Perhaps Spring will bring the warmth...
to move me... feeling stronger.
...
Perhaps our Nature's new life...
can help my spirit lift...
Colors, blossoms, fragrances...
given like a gift.
...
perhaps I may just close my eyes,
put it all behind...
Dream of days... another life...
where rest I'll finally find.

Author's Note

Panhead Rod
If you know an elderly person who is alone,
and in a situation where cold is their enemy,
show them kindness... Cut them some firewood,
help with their electric bill, buy them a heater, give some candles, a warm coat, a blanket, or a hot bowl of soup... and then, give them a hug...You may just find yourself in their situation some day.
