A Poppy's Shadow

A Poppy's Shadow

A Poem by Panhead Rod
"

A poem reflecting the need to honor those who have served...

"
...
Cast away...
Thrust by a beam of intense light...
Only touching the surface...
Silhouetted...
Singly Dimensional...
Prospective is lost...
Forlorn...
Lamenting...
The flatness of a shadow...
...
Look again...
Look deeper...
put more light on the subject,
from many viewpoints...
Highlight features...
Give substance...
It matters...
Positive energy...
Opening new doors...
...

Author's Note

Panhead Rod
This poem was inspired by a D.V.A. poppy I have hanging on my rear view mirror casting a shadow, while I looked at the meaning of the poppy to those who served our nation...

"Semper Fi."

Depending on the times - you learn early on to be a "good" chamelion . So many utter "Thanks for..." but its just mouthed - not thought ...and we KNOW it.
