Journey

A Journey...

Twisting desert roads lay unforgiving,

With towering trees to guide your step,

And a sky of dense greys that sits heavily above.

The grass holds crisp, the rain lies still,

Silk wind snatches at your ice cold skin,

The hills roll towards you, leaping with your every stride,

Sound is far from you, your mind travels alone,

Moving always, seeking the next bend,

When the road fails to move,

When the sky fails to stand,

When the land fails to live,

That is where your journey ends.

Very beautiful and lonely. Like a multi-colored autumn glade between the mountains at dawn. The journey is what makes the trip worthwhile; the destination, is anyone's guess. I really liked this.

A scenic poem! Wonderful yet sad for me. "You seek the next bend, for there is where your Journey ends." That's the line. That's the part of journey's I don't like, the next bend. And I don't ever "seek" that when on one. NeverendingroadtripsarewhatIlike!
