Measure twice, cut once

Measure twice, cut once

A Poem by Robyn
"

This is for my dad :) hope you like it <3

"
I tend to act to quickly
without thinking it through

I tend to be to lazy
to do something the right way

And then things go wrong
things break

Afterwards I tend to think about my dad
what he used to say

"Measure twice, cut once"
was what he always told me

And I always tell myself
"next time you will double check!"

And the next time I tend to forget
doing it all again

Like this at the metaphorical level and the earthly, practical level. A flowing piece of sage advice in a poem.

thank you :)
I can relate to this one big time. It's funny how we always remember quotes or saying our family members told us. But when in reality it comes to putting into practice we forget. As we are but mere mortal and human beings.

so true , he thinks like an engineer , you can't always double think on real life , we all do the same mistakes again

This sounds like me when I write a poem. haha

Dads always know best. Don't worry, you'll remember one of these days and you'll be grateful for his loving advice. :)
