All that could've happened

All that could've happened

A Poem by Robin

I remember waking up with wasteful thoughts about
all that could’ve happened. - could have happened.
It is embarrassing wishing for things I’m not worthy of.
It is embarrassing wishing you’d come back so I could
keep exploring the galaxy’s that hide inside of you.
It is embarrassing wishing I could trace my fingers along
the constellations on your back, only to feel the warmth
radiating from your skin under mine and hoping you
wouldn’t forget my touch. There are so many open roads
but the one I choose to pursuit is the one that’s closed
and abandoned and surrounded by big flashy signs saying
“Dangerous area. Do not enter”. And I still take that path
leading to my own demise, because I am addicted to making
the wrong choices. It is embarrassing to think about all that
could’ve happened - especially when the road i followed
ends in a dark infinite abyss.
