Plastic

Plastic

A Poem by Robin Marie
"

This poem is dedicated to all the plastic people in high school

"

Wear our little plastic faces

We wear our plastic smiles well

A little plastic world we live in

Plastic laughs thrown at people who are real

God look at us

Barbie dolls we have become

Looks and clothing and popularity

All that seems to matter

Plastic insults thrown here and there

Never seeming to actually care

Nobody can tell the pain others feel

All because of the plastic we wear

Oh why can’t you see it’s all just fake?

You’re not even yourself

You’re not even real

When you get into the real f*****g world

You’ll see I was right being me

I wear no mask and I wear my face well

Plastic laughs are thrown at me

My scars and clothes are all they see

I laugh at them because they are plastic

They’re going to melt in the heat of the real world

So good by high school

Have fun melting

See you in hell

I loved the last line. I feel the same way about high school. I couldn't have decribed the plastic-ness any better. Wonderful job!
