Lost in Darkness

Lost in Darkness

A Poem by Rob Ert

I am a rover lost in darkness,

My weary heart is in obedience,

I don’t wish to raise enthusiasm,

Nor I want to dream for waters.

I’m driven away by an evil steam,

And my path is closed irredeemably.

My mislaid soul’s a poor foundling,

Consigned to blackness like a blurry steam.

Tired, deflected from wailing,

The motherless thing wants to sleep,

Don’t you give a care, don’t you bother please,

Don’t torture again - it needs some relief.

I liked this poem but one question. this line "Consigned to blackness like a blurry steam." was that meant to be "a blurry stream?" or "like blurry steam?" I feel the former is more accurate. but perhaps you meant like a blurry steam in which case I have to ponder that line much more carefully lol. But all in all I liked it. I can relate to it and as Dhaye said we all want relief.

well then i guess i'll be pondering that line lol
Who wants to stay in the dark? We all wanted relief from such agony. We need to be free from all miseries...

A nice poem. God job.
