Don't You Draw Near My Grave

Don't You Draw Near My Grave

A Poem by Rob Ert

Don’t you draw near my grave,

I need no flowers or care.

Zealous, I might wish to whimper

But my heart will find no tears.

Let my grave stand far away

Where there are no noises, voices,

Along with no songs and verses.

Let my grave be dead aired,

Let me not be remembered,

Just, let me be forgotten.

Don’t you draw near my grave

Let my weary heart take rest

Let me be alone away,

And feel no love, cry and craze.

I understand the authors reasons for wanting to be undisturbed. and to be honest I would also rather have an undiclosed grave and instead be known for what I did and how I lived,
