Judge Not, Sleep Not

Judge Not, Sleep Not

A Poem by Enigma
"

This poem is a about the good you can find in everyone around you and the futility of judging others.

"

The door creaked open, the curtain drew

A beam of light filtered through

Outside nature declared its outrage

Man so self-absorbed in his own cage

Lightening struck, the rain came crashing down

No mercy for the corrupted, the judging, let them drown

So sombre are our prisons

Each cell built with every decision

Unlock each cloister, let the sunshine in

Against your inner demons you must win

In darkness lives each around you

Shine a light and let prowess ensue

For every soul needs its respite

Let it awaken from the dark night

Look past the nimbus, beyond the horizon

You'll see the rainbow making its liason

Remove your blinkers and bend the bars

And make way for the stars

We're all ready to cast the first stone

The reality of it chilling to the bone

We're all brothers trying to make our way

Sometimes we fall and go astray

But the fight is not over, the battle half done

Judgement will fade and acceptance will come

The road is long and full of fog

Release your mind from all the smog

Reach out to each victim and lend a hand

Travel together to the promised land

For in each one of us lies the key

To living a life of true harmony
