All That Nonsense I’ve Just Said

All That Nonsense I’ve Just Said

A Poem by Robert James

How much is the illusion of meaning
and how much is the seduction of sounds?

Too much an obsession with reasoning
will exhaust, bore, and fatigue passion’s hounds.

But, just to seize and please the mind at ease
and gently freeze with birds and bees that breeze
that moves heart with art and the whole soul
to lose sleep, wail and weep and rock and roll,
may titillate but rarely dilate
or facilitate that urge to procreate;
nor relate existence to one’s fate.

Rather one must combine admonitions
with those patterned hypnotic conditions
in reasoned emotional renditions.

when I am in the zone I meditate a lot before hand usually i ponder a word or a phrase and i just start to scribble & scrawl I'm not thinking of a thing it just happens a sort of (for lack of a better term) ..automatic writing. I find when i try to write in form I get too bogged down so I've kinda got this hybrid writing style now:/ when I apply all above said to life all below applies also I think one of the things I came to realize much later on in my writing universe is that poetry is a state of mind (at all times)

About
For much of my life until recently I have been letting my writing occur organically: poems are things that happen when one is lucky. However, in the last few years I’ve come to recognize that I.. more..
