When I am young again

When I am young again

A Poem by Robert James

When I am young again
and this garment some call age --
in poor attempts at being vain --
has slipped from off my shoulders like a rage
now calmed by strange and quiet hands.

When I am young and spring
calls me once more to naked lands,
I will remember you as in my youth I sing.

Oh sweet and lovely miss of mine
I’ve missed you something fierce and fine
but missed so long I’m old and grey
and far beyond our summer’s play.

So let me seek my youth once more;
I'll think of you when naked on spring’s shore.

this has a nice cadence and flow to it! However I do not know if I would want to do it all over again LOL I have very keen memories of youth and many horrible ones too and since when they start us out we all have to start from scratch I fear I would be destined to endure the many mistakes I make this last trip LOL
