The Pain Unforgotten.

The Pain Unforgotten.

A Poem by Robert Dees
"

I am writing this for a contest.

"
The pain I can feel,
it stabs like a knife,
the death I want,
comes not without sacrifice,
the hunger for emptiness,
that devours my soul,
it fills me like a leaden weight,
this pain I am feeling,
it will not leave me,
I long for the time,
when I could live life free of worry,
but not now, no,
I have matured beyond all of my fourteen years,
you look at me now as if,
as if I were a child,
you need to know,
if my words shan't flow,
and none of your ideas,
do fly,
that the pain I feel,
is not your fault,
for I sprinkle my opinions with not sugar, but salt.
