"Perfection isn't found in a magazine"

"
Her fingernails are two inches of hot pink plastic. She drives whichever vehicle is trending for the week. Money is not an issue. She stays tan during the winter time. She does her best to imitate what she sees in the magazines. She is at church every Sunday. She has an appliance for every task and a machine for every deed. Her television tunes into the nightly news. The tile floors to her home haven't a single scratch. Every fix is just a phone call away.
She walks with her head held high. It is her purpose to go without noticing you. The shine of her necklace rivals the stars on a dark night. The golden hoops of her earrings echo a reminder of the child who sifted a river's sand for a week without end. She has materials, but no idea. She is just like everyone else as we drift further from ourselves.
