Lab RatA Poem by RobensisFrightening images are now placed as memories inside of me. I can't fight the fear, I'm scared if things I've never seen. The walls to my cage are mirrored; I've heard rumors of an outside land. But I could only see it if it's a part of their plan. I'd bite the hand that feeds me if given a chance. Maybe it's because my brothers and sisters were smarter than me, perhaps that why they got tested a little harder than me. White coats woke me up this morning; testing started at 3. I was running on a treadmill that elevated in degrees as it got harder to breathe. I keep going. My mind says I can make it. I must show strength for my fallen family that couldn't take it. They consider us vermin, but we could never be that sick. They throw our dead bodies in waste baskets made of plastic. We come from the same place. I am not your opponent. And in death, I just hope you got the results that you wanted.© 2015 Robensis |
