When We Were YoungA Poem by Robynwe were unlimited
When we were young, we dreamed of days we did not know would never come.
If we had known, wouldn't it have broken our hearts? We'd have no imagination, And no room left to dream in our tiny houses that seemed to expand to the moon, Maybe beyond. We were innocent then, we knew not the cost. On good days, we could climb to mountaintops and touch the clouds! We would sail the seas! We flew with the birds and sang songs on sparkling stages. On great days, we were princesses, jesters, and pretty pink ballerinas. We were inventors, storm catchers, cowboys, and car racers. We were superheroes, firemen, and magicians who didn't think much of saving the world. It was simple. We never even caught a glimpse of sadness or doubt. No one would dare to stop us! In fact, it never once crossed our minds. Our dreams were invincible. Our dreams, they were. Now we live in our tiny houses, as small as can be with no escape. No doors or windows in sight, Nothing to hope for. How I wish I could have stayed young. © 2010 RobynReviews
