Half-MastA Poem by Robert Michael Miller Jr.A man so brave, he recieves the highest of honors
Raised to Half-Mast at the start of the day
Man dressed in uniform on a day filled with grey Gather round far and wide everyone wants to see The man who did great things, found his way into history The man so normal like you and I, The only option he had was to die So why celebrate him like we do? This man threw his life away for me and for you. Tears are shed as people die There is no shame in the tears we cry Celebrating his life, people sit all around Millions are grouped but they don't make a sound The moment of silence covers all in emotion The man who saved his troops in one single motion As the grenade hit the floor, he dove to cover He was soon gone, but he spared the others The president stepped up to give his speech His voice carried on and far it did reach and though his deeds had made him a goner Strapped to his chest he was awarded, The Medal of Honor. © 2013 Robert Michael Miller Jr. |

Mystery/Thrillers are some of my favorite things to read. I love Edgar Allen Poe and I feel like a lot of my style of writing is based on what I learn .. more..Writing
