Ballad of a dying manA Poem by Rob SowreyThoughts of a mans final view of the world as he lays waiting for deaths door. What does one see, when eyes are open? Only the failed efforts of a hardworking man, who through hardships I strived to live and survive, in a world with such greed, want and much need. What does one hear, when ears are alert? Only the sounds of cries from children getting hurt, abandoned into poverty eyes filled with honesty, it is not their fault, as they cry from assault. What does one taste, that is sweet like honey? Only the bitter irony of bankers with money, a mortgage refused blankly but bonuses are plenty, a double-edged sword as their brought to the court. What does one smell, in the aroma of reality? Only the dead people from an oppressed society, leaders attacking their people, dictators of evil, blood en-circling their feet from bodies on the street. What does one feel, that is so revealing? Only the thought of
death without ever achieving, nothing to show in life except my loyal wife, © 2012 Rob SowreyAuthor's Note
