Chapter 5

Kurai's POV

I wake up in the morning with a huge sigh. Another day in this miserable world.

My thoughts drift to Alex. Why has he taken such an interest with me? Why is he so determined to totally change my life?

I sigh again. Maybe I'll let him do what he wants. He doesn't seem like the person to give up so I guess I'll give him a chance. Not like it's gonna do anything though.

"Kurai! Time to get up!" my mom yells from downstairs. Ugh, I should probably get up.

I walk to the bathroom and do the daily bathroom stuff. Straighten my hair, make-up put on so very thick, teeth, blah blah blah.

After I'm ready I grab my backpack and knife and walk downstairs.

What? Gotta have it just in case.

I walk downstairs and notice moms cooking breakfast. I'm not hungry so I just walk out and head to school without any food.

I was just peacefully walking to school when suddenly someone jumps on my back causing me to scream and tumble down to the ground.

I hear a laugh and I look behind me to see who attacked me. It was Alex. "What was that for?" I ask.

"Haha it was just a way to say hello."

"Hmm, great way to say hello." I mumble. "Can you get off me now?"

"Haha fine." he gets up then holds out his hand for me to grab. I grab his hand he pulls me up. But on my way up my knife falls out of my pocket. I reach down to grab it but Alex beats me to it.

"Why do you carry this around with you?" he says as he stands back up.

"As a just in case type thing." I answer with my head down.

"Kurai, you don't need this. I think taking this away is the first step in healing you."

"Bu-"

"I'm serious Kurai. You aren't getting this back, ever." he interrupts while slipping it into his pocket.

I sigh. "Fine. But cutting is my way of getting through the hardships of life."

"I don't care. I say you need to find a new way. A safer way. You know you could kill yourself by cutting. Just one wrong cut and that's it."

"I know but that's why I just gotta be careful where I cut."

"Still. You aren't getting it back."

"Ugh fine." I say and I walk away from him going to school.

"Hey wait up!" he yells out as he catches up with me. "I am still gonna walk you to school. No matter what you say."

I grumble. "Why are you so determined to change me?" I ask as we walk to school.

"Cause I like you. No one deserves to live like this."

I just stare at him in reply and look away and we walk the rest of the way to school in silence.

I have more chapters already written...well I have 17 chapters written in fact lol.
