NOT A ONE-NIGHT-STAND

NOT A ONE-NIGHT-STAND

A Poem by SJ Mullins

You mess with my head

asking me into your bed.

I want so much to take your hand

but know that I’m not a one-night-stand.

I want simply just to be with you;

wishing you wanted only me too.

Intimacy with one is what I’ve craved,

Is your conscience evil and depraved?

Or can you settle down with just me

to see what together we might be?

Darlin’, tell me what I need to know,

if you can’t, then please, let me go.

Stop this unending rollercoaster ride

by telling me how you feel inside.

I’m not able to read your mind,

are our hearts still entwined?

My Darlin’, do you love me still?

If you do not, who else will?

I want so much to take your hand

but just know I’m not a one-night-stand.
