The Forever Song

The Forever Song

A Poem by Eduardo Reyes

Not many songs last
Sometimes you have to dig
Deep into the past

But I'm weird
I did what I feared
Dug into the future

I became a teacher
Teach the impossible
To make that smile possible.

My everyday goal
But to make that curve stay
With nature, I did a play.
I stole its song.

I'm a thief, don't get me wrong
the song of nature
Played by the bird
What a creature
To craft a song made to last

Those Tweet tweets
Will give that smile a tweak
When time does not allow me
To be sweet
