Christmas OutsideA Poem by EmmyA humorous Christmas poem for those who need a good laugh for the holidays
It was one day 'till Christmas,
And the children were crazy. Their poor parents though, Were feeling quite lazy. They'd defeated the crowds, At a small shopping place. They'd finally won, The deadly Christmas race. Now they chased their kids, Back into their beds, And set up colorful presents, The greens, blues, and reds. They looked around, Just one last time. As the clock hit twelve, They heard their last chime. On their way to their room, It was a long way there, So they fell fast asleep, Right on the chair. Now who would've guessed, The dog would be awake. A reckless hound, Who's plans weren't so great. That big old Christmas tree, Was smelling pretty good. He had to mark his territory, Yes, on the tree, he would. When the parents woke up, All proud of their house, They let out a scream, When they saw the tree'd been doused. They went on with Christmas, And cast the tree aside. But the dog did not, He spent Christmas outside. © 2013 EmmyReviews
