First snow day

First snow day

A Poem by Emmy

As the day is drawing near
I beg of you to loose your fear
For snow's been spread across the ground
Snow you've been waiting to come around

The kind that sparkles and shines so white
Snow that reflects the suns bright light
Not one footstep is to be seen
The snow just happens to be clean

As you step away from the door
It's the snowy trees that you adore
Watch the children drag their sleds
Bundled up with hats on their heads

Snow days, to me, are the best
Being lazy and getting to rest
You have no job to do these days
But observe the fire's enchanting blaze

As the day draws to a close
Even the fall of snowflakes slows
You yawn and stretch during the last snow fray
And you say "Bonne nuit" to your first snow day
