Take Flight OklahomaA Poem by Emmy
I look up to the sky,
And take flight. I fly through the green, purple, pink gardens, I float over the foaming seas, I race through the redwood forests, Of this place I call home. I challenge the bird, With the scissor tail, To a fight of flight, And I take time to hover, And smell the flowers, Mistletoe and roses as far as the eye can see. Then I zoom over to a rose, Of a different kind, One that weighs a large amount, Was it a rock or rose? It was both, Making it unique. I travel through the farm, Greeted by many whinnies of horses, And moos of cows, I flutter over the city, Known for its oil, And the city, That is a star on the map. I shoot through the sky, And admire the different terrains, The state holds every kind, That you could ever imagine! I stop to remember, All the years I've spent here, In beautiful Oklahoma, My true home, My love, Oklahoma. © 2013 EmmyAuthor's Note
