Protection

Through many battles I have been

My pride is torn and rugged

Sorrow hath been my lasting shadow

Ever there---Every reminder

Refusing to set me free

 

Darkness hides the shadows

Hides the past

Repairs the beauty

Sunlight only encourages

Coaxing the shadows

Joining the first

 

So take me under your wing

Make a home for me

Be my lasting darkness

My friendly shield

And my protector
