Colour to be chosen

Colour to be chosen

A Poem by Riti Rajput

In the midst of dawn,
very much below the row.
I found something shining,
and it was a beautiful bow.

I ran behind the light,
with a thought of finding hope.
surprisingly, there I found,
colours full of scope.

Choosing one of them,
was really very strenuous.
And those who easily chose,
made me really envious.

Decision was to be made,
to come out of the dawn.
To follow others,
was what I decided with a yawn.

While walking in the day light,
on an un-thought path of resolution.
I found myself,
with a lack of determination.

It was very clear,
that I had chosen a wrong road,
Chasing others had made,
the wrongness very broad.

After the light,
soon the sun was about to set.
and a colour belonging to my heart
was to be chosen.

In the midst of darkness,
and before the dawn.
I chose a colour of my life,
without any yawn.

While walking in the day light,
on an un-thought path of resolution.
I found myself,
with a lack of determination.

This happens very often to all, but the guts of choosing the right color is what only few does, there always lies a thin line between the path on which we are and the path on which we wanted to be, its so thin that many times we cant even see.........Very Profound writing.....thanks for sharing.........

Thanks for reviewing :)
In trying to maintain a rhyme your message is being compromised. You become trapped between your thoughts and putting them in words.
The thoughts in your poem are very strong and positive
A pleasure to read.

Thanks for reviewing my poem... and thanks for truly sharing my mistakes... :)
Your message, which reflects a deeper sophistication than most, is much stronger than your ability to fit your words into a certain poetic form. In places, your rhymes & rhythm are weak. But your way of seeing the world & expressing yourself are so strong, I would suggest that you stop trying to squeeze yourself into the harness of some poetic form. I'd like to read you, totally unleashed, just expressing yourself. Here, you've written a complicated allegory that really sings with the way life is, with a lesson to impart. This message is memorable & rings true.

Thanks for your valuable review... I really appreciate you for being a true reviewer and letting me .. read more
Full of imaginations and wonderful thoughts...
According to me, imagination must lie in a writer, may it be a realistic writer or an imaginative one. I enjoyed the whole poem with much appreciation. The rhyming words that are put down add some kind of magic into this piece, enjoyed a lot...
I would like to suggest something, just read out the 6th paragraph and try to replace the word 'chose' with 'chosen'. It sounds good. Well, it was only a suggestion by your friend, above all, I liked the thought put into this poem... thanks for sharing!!!

A thought provoking write!
It maintains the contrast of an incident with the words of imagination in a well manner.
Lovely write.
Thanks for sharing this.
