Honing

Honing

A Poem by Rita L. Sev

How dare you
Keep me from living my life,
from slaying dragons
and speaking my mind

How dare you push me around
(Like you own the place
you occupy in my mind)

Well,
I’m on to you.
I see you now
as the dragon I must slay

Say your goodbyes, Fear.

I’m sharpening my sword.

Thank you for reading!
this is such a good metaphor...and such a nice surprise...this one had spousal abuse written into my mind as I read...and in a way it could fit...but fear is such a dangerous enemy....we must overcome.

It is a dangerous enemy indeed - and it changes form often. Thanks for your insights, Jacob.
