April Stroll

April Stroll

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

<><><><>

"

At last, the buds bob on the trees,

I spy the languid dance of bees;

I catch the hymn of flowing creek

And through the earth new grasses peek

Life awakes ‘neath azure skies

As zephyrs whisper breezy sighs

Natura’s slumber cast aside ~

She’s got that Spring back in her stride

You have truly captured the essence of spring--beautiful! Also, I adore your rhyme scheme; it flows so smoothly and there's a certain bounce or "spring" in your word choice. In all, I admire the simplicity of your piece! :)

Thank you very much, R.M. :)
Wow, this poem just brought back memories of April. Of course, it is August and rain is pouring in giant bucketfuls here in India. I absolutely adore the title. :D Hope you're doing well, Rita. Have a great day. :)

Thanks, Cassie!
This was articulately put. Rita I think you are a master of these sorts of poems. I could never write a poem like this. I think this is the best nature poem I've read so far this year. Well done.

Thank you, Rocans - Nature gives some great inspiration...
I read these lines then closed my eyes, envisioning your words. I could feel the spring breeze and take in all the smells and sounds of spring. This is a beautiful picture you paint with these words.

Thank you, Damien. Mother Nature gives some great scenes!
Love Spring and all that it brings. Those buds are confirmation that Mother Nature, though her patience is being sorely tried, is still giving us the benefit of the doubt.

She is patient indeed... :) Thanks, Beccy!
I'm seeing a little chain in the 'tag line' Rita - the links of life I felt. Us to each other and to the seasons and everything.

"languid...bees" - yes they do appear to get very drunk on that nectar don't they and all Lebowski.
Love the "hymn of flowing creek" phrase.
Magical Rita!
