Not much of a poem (still blocked...) but I wanted to share this link here: https://www.booster.com/iwearredforreece. One of my students was recently diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia (Bone Marrow Failure). A great student who led a very active life, which is now on hold as he deals with this illness. Check out the link; feel free to share, gain some awareness, and hey, if you need a red tee-shirt for your collection... ;) Prayers and good wishes are also appreciated!

Thank you, Cycy - my students really are "my kids", and I hate to see them suffer...
Nice write. I like what it represents; A candid but non-judgemental open-mindedness to possibilities to curb the apparent malignancy of the world. The chaos of nature strikes again, and it is that same nature that can deliver the boy to well-being swayed by stuff that cannot be taken for granted. I will send my small trinity to the boy (prayers, hopes and thoughts) in a hope that an amalgamation of such expelling of energies can heal the child. Thanks for sharing.

Rita this is a beautiful new thing to see here on WC. God love him. I've never heard of that affliction. Its so sad at any age but when they are just starting to enjoy life and they have the rug pulled from under them like this, its heartbreaking.
Thank you for sharing this one dear friend.
All the best to him and the search for a cure - my prayers are definitely offered.
God Bless.

A strong, smart kid, I just want to garner as many prayers and good wishes as I can for him! Thank you so much!
You obviously care a great deal for your students, Rita. That's what makes you a good teacher. It's true, when a young person is struck by any illness, it is tragic. So much of life ahead and roadblocks are put up. It's not fair, but then again, life is not fair, is it? Thank you for bringing Aplastic Anemia to our attention. When it comes to research for a cure, every little bit helps. Lydi**

i am relatively new on WC; but, Rita, your posts have always been in an uplifting vein ... the contrast with this one only accentuates its importance to you .. forgive me for asking but is this a student that you have taught? .. (not that it matters:)
as for being in a blocked state of muse .. i am pretty sure you have unplugged the dam ..
i am retired now but a nurse in pediatric intensive care and have seen this and too many other syndromes that need attentive management .. many are life threatening ..
God bless .. sending my support for sure .. ;)

He is a current student, in my homeroom - an empty chair now in his place (though he is keeping up academically from home). I had not realized that you are a superhero (my sister is a pediatric nurse - I see that invisible cape!) Thank you for your good vibes!
