Snitch

Snitch

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

He sees all...

"

I’m moving very cautiously

in each room of my home

‘cause my parents hired out a spy,

A tricky, sneaky gnome

He’ll see me stealing cookies,

he’ll know if I start fights ~

that smugly smirking tattletale

in bright red, festive tights

My sister named him Sprinkles;

she just doesn’t have a clue,

too young to see the consequence

of what that fink can do

Whenever there is mischief

he can tell who is the cause

and, according to my mother,

he reports to Santa Claus!

So, at least for this month,

I’ll just behave myself

he’ll have no naughty news to tell,

that snitch of a shelf elf!

Lol! Thanks, Daughter!
IKWYM! That is the creepiest Christmas tradition of our era. I think he's really a minion of Krampus rather than Santa!

I'm sure I or one of my sisters would have done away with that pesky little demon in Elf's clothing.
Absolutely adorable! Elf on a shelf can be looked at as a pesty voyeur I suppose! :) Lydi**

That's definitely my opinion! :) Thanks, Lydi!
Omg that's so cute and funny! I know what you mean though, I find them a bit creepy too.
Someone I work with totally fooled her kids into believing this elf was spying on them.
Kind of cruel I thought. Makes for a funny poem though!

I guess it's no different than Santa, who "sees us when we're sleeping..." Lol! Thanks, Ana!
I think it is a cute, creative idea whoever came up with the idea, but am with you, would have probably creeped me out when I was little.. having said that, this is such a cute, fun, adorable piece that had me giggling and re-reading... Thanks so much, Woody!
They could have put up a spy camera, of course; but that seems so impersonal...
