Flawed on Purpose

Flawed on Purpose

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

...

"

Polarized imperfect,

With sour notes and sweet

Ironically impermanent;

Forever incomplete

A constant work in progress,

A sculpture unrefined

Embracing the rough edges;

These flaws are by design

To illustrate this little poem, I'd like to note that after writing it, I stood up and saw that I had been sitting on a peanut M&M...

Ha! I really liked this one. Great rhymes with a tongue twister flow. Yeah. I'm gonna like that.

:) Thank you, Mark.

Things only seemed chaotic because we are caught up in the action. A short but very meaningful write, Rita.

Understandably ok. You are welcome...:)......
yes, a work in progress cannot, by its very nature be perfect. Perfection is what we constantly reach for. Very well put.

Thank you, Marie!
A great description of how God designed all of us. Our imperfections are how we build character and earn our way into the pearly gates.

You are lucky, it will take me a 100 and I know I will not live that long so I am outta luck.
Your note made me laugh! It is the flaw that makes any object stand out. It is the scar that brings the beauty. Absolutely true. The changes in font were very effective. Lydi**

Thanks, Lydi! Yes, I had to laugh at that darn M&M! :)
they should make M&M's with "E's"

poems really are unrefined sculptures...if we chisel too much i think we make them into cold pieces of art...but if we leave them a little rough---the are more sweet than sour.

Poems, sculptures, people... best not to chip away too much... :) Thank you, Jacob!
I imagine it is so much more fun to be flawed than perfect , there would be nothing to strive toward,nothing to aspire to. The "polarized imperfect" gives the scope to explore and to improve continuously. Your lines are very pointed and purposeful, no words wasted. Excellent work here.
