What Students Think

What Students Think

A Poem by Rita L. Sev

Class, you know what time it is?

That’s right!  Another surprise quiz!

And then, you’d better write the list

Of homework sure to sprain your wrist

You’ll start with spelling words, and then

Read chapters eight and nine and ten;

Construct a 3D diorama ~

Presidents Washington to Obama;

Irregular verbs, you’ll conjugate

Research the chimpanzee heart rate

No time for friendly interactions

Mired deep in proper fractions

It makes me giddy, can’t you see,

To bask in students’ misery

Lucky for you, this load is light ~

Just wait until tomorrow night!

I would have finished this but the dog ate my poetry. Rita, these are days I don't miss and I am sure my teachers don't miss me much either. This was great. I loved this poem, even if it will haunt me now in my sleep.

Witty with the interactions and fractions of students and faculty. A lot of students dread homeworks and tests...Bravo as a teacher and a poet....:)...............

Yep. You are welcome...:).........
Oh, you are the kind of teacher I loved, and the ones the others sneered at and called me "teacher's pet" behind their backs.

:) I get more of a kick out of the quizzes than the homework, I must say... Lol! Thanks, KL!
Ahhhh yes you just now reminded me of why I didn't like school, LOL
Homework was always unfair, cutting into my TV and fun time.

To Quote Edna Crabapple "HA!" Cute poem Rita. When I was a lad I thought all my teachers were retards. I was raised in the rural south so the talent pool for teachers was pretty slim. I think their were just to many of us and only about half the class spoke enough English to know what was going on.
