Grasping Twilight

Grasping Twilight

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

***

"

This morning I was six years old,

       to misery immune

but as each moment came to pass,

       I’d grown by afternoon

now as dusk descends her veil

       I day-dream in the twilight,

while grasping sun and clouds

and stars…

       how old I’ll be tonight

Thank you so much, Fran Marie...
We rise in the morning with a spring...a new day is born and after breakfast the fuel to tae on the day is met. By lunch we are fading and in mid afternoon a small nap reenergises but as night decends the new day closes out and aged we feel.

This was well penned Rita.

Ah, well. This is very telling Rita.
You must be having fun.
Because time flies when you're having... you guessed it. :)

That is true, Ance - I do find fun everywhere. This is almost as deep as I get, by the way...

I'd say this one is pretty deep.
You'd be surprised how many different ways ppl can slice and .. read more
Itake this to mean that in the mornig you can do anything (probably after you've had your coffee); by afternoon the morning's buzz is waring off, Twilight is for relaxing. Night means the day is over, and you have to admit you didn't do very much after all.

yes it does; and it takes yards of energy to resist it ;)
A reflective beauty, Rita. It is true....just yesterday we were carefree children. Where has the time flown off to? What will tomorrow bring? All we can do is cherish every moment. Such a bittersweet message. Lydi**

I know right? She's dancing to Apocalyptica, telling eh?
life passes by so quickly...doesn't seem so when we are kids, but wow, the older we get the faster it flies.

your poem sums it up so nicely...

i am reminded of a steven wright quote...

"when i turned two i got really scared because i had doubled my age in a year, and i thought if this keeps up by the time i'm six i'll be ninety..."
