Take with a Grain of Salt

Take with a Grain of Salt

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

His name was Ryan ~

he went by Ry ~

he was the county’s

baking guy

until one day, in mid-July

his dough mixer went quite awry,

twisting up his bread supply

and now no righteous man will buy

a gnarled loaf of Ry’s wry rye

Author's Note

Rita L. Sev
After learning that a synonym for "wry" is "twisted", a student asked, "Is that why that bread is called wry bread? You know, that twisty bread?" His question inspired a quick vocabulary lesson... and this silly pun poem. :)

It's a pretty great story, I laughed when I read it, and let out a big awwwww!
Absolutely adorable...and the fact this all came about because a student asked you a question makes it more special to me. Hmm..."twisty bread" would be more challah if you ask me! :) Great rhyming. Lydi**

A piece of fun. However, there may be enough hungry unrighteous folk to empty his shelves. Mid-July too eh? Really bad luck.
