Best FriendA Poem by Rita L. Sev<>If
I could make my own best friend, I’d
mold her out of clay She
would bring out the best in me, And
lead me not astray She’d
never make petty demands, Or
shame me to contrition; Her
heart would beat in time with mine And
love, without condition No
matter what life had in store She’d
always sympathize And
see me as I truly am, Without
judgmental eyes She’d
celebrate the joys of life And
lift depression’s fog ~ I
just realized, I have this friend ~ I’ve
just described my dog! J © 2014 Rita L. SevAuthor's Note
