Gravity
A Poem by
Rita L. Sev
<>
A poem fell
in the world today,
it
didn’t make a sound
Its gentle wisdom
touched no one,
for
no one was around
Its imagery and metaphor,
its meter and its tone ~
they
lifted no one’s spirit,
for
that poem was alone
When an earnest lyric echoes ~
into the blankness calls ~
gravity gains
victory
each time a poem falls.

Simply fantastic! Very simple, yet brilliant, with a great theme. I loved all of it.

Thank you so much, Gleb!
I simply love this one. It is beautiful, for all of its simplicity. I found these lines especially beautiful:
"they lifted no one’s spirit,
for that poem was alone"
Thanks for sharing! =)

Good job. You are welcome...:)....................
This is lovely Rita. I like the idea of a poem quietly falling due to the pull of gravity. The writing process, the birth of a poem is very much like that.

Even in the silence there is an echo. Words, once freed from the mind will live forever.

Thank you for this lovely comment, Beccy!
Your gentle wisdom has reached across the computer screen to touch me with this one, Rita. It IS a victory each time a poem falls....each time the inspiration hits and we know where to place the words to get our point across. I really liked this one a lot. Lydi**

Thank you so much, Lydi.
This is clever! Words spoken only to the walls without those ears to listen are useless. Writings without any reader are useless.
Nice analogy. Well-done, Rita.

Perhaps, like water into concrete, they seep in slowly... Thanks, Dhaye!
