Grandma's Testimony

Grandma's Testimony

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Jumped on Frieda's Fairy Tale train...

"

I was waiting for my granddaughter

To bring me by some goodies;

She fills my home with sunny cheer,

Dressed in her crimson hoodie

When my front door flew open

My heart was filled with dread;

A horrid brute was standing there,

And not my precious Red!

You may have heard he did me in;

Well that just isn’t true

I grabbed my knitting needles

And I skewered him right through

Never underestimate

A Granny when she’s mad;

Speak not of “little, frail and old” ~

Who’s really big and bad?

Go get em Granny! Never mess with a Granny who is waiting for some tasty cookies from her granddaughter! Great fractured fairy tale. Loved it. Lydi**

That's right! LOL! Thanks, Lydi! Glad you enjoyed :)
So funny. It reminds me of some poems by Carol Ann Duffy. Love the last two lines, this poem really made me laugh.
