Memories in December

Memories in December

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

...

"

A twisted tangle

of tinted twinkling lights,

each fragile figment must be tested

to separate the beautiful

from the broken…

Thank you and may you and family have the same filled with warm blessings:)
Christmas tree lights can be a bit futtery, though the end result is well worth the effort !

A colourful, charismatic, Christmas charmer !

Like memories themselves... worth the effort! Thank you, Tom!
I am a sucker for alliteration, so this one gripped me from the start haha And yet there is so much more at work here. December is unquestionably THE month of memories, but this is a perfect metaphor for any time of year. Nice work here Rita :)

Have you ever recalled the amount of lights that you have had to replace?

I have always found that a new set of lights is like a new beginning. Out with the old in with the new. A change is as good as a holiday they say:)

That's a good motto, Troy! :)
Short and spicy, wish I could rest a poem like this, using little words to capture an idea so concretely.

Thank you much, Rocans - I worry with short pieces that the message won't come through...

Part os my lights went out again this year...I always have to try to put up enough to make up for the lights I know will fail...

We have neighbors who have lights out all year round. The never seem to burn out... weird...
Lights flicker for a season and go out needing some of them to be replaced or the whole does not look good for it will look missing something...A great analogy and poem...:)............

You are welcome...:)......................
Oh, those lights! Every year I patiently untangle them. Every year, I replace bulbs, fool with fuses. Every year I wind up running to Walmart for a couple of strings...
