What Will You Eat?

What Will You Eat?

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

on Thanksgiving...

"

Mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy

roasted Brussels sprouts

What’ll I eat on “Turkey Day”?

Plenty ~ have no doubt!

Cranberry sauce and stuffing,

buttered, fresh green beans;

the only things my plate will lack

are poultry-based proteins

A glass of wine, some pumpkin pie,

perhaps a cordial shot

So many treats I will enjoy,

who cares about the “not”

Like yours, my table will be full

of blessings which abound

not in the serving platters,

but the loved ones all around.

Every year, I get the question, "What do you eat on Thanksgiving?" The answer is simple: everything but the turkey! :)

Your Thanksgiving feast sounds great even without the turkey (thous I would never pass that up myself.)

My favorites were always those carbs, even in my meat-eating days... :)

Oh, I can't wait for Thanksgiving. I'm not a big eater in general, but on that day, I gourge myself until I feel sick. Now I'm hungry... Well done!

It is a day of indulgence, and who are we to flout it? ;) Thanks, Sarah!
Man those mashed potatos look good. I do what most Americans do on thanksgiving, Eat to much, drink to much and fall into a triptophan coma by 5 oclock

Yep - my "coma" is carb-induced. Potatoes, stuffing and pie... Mmmm! :)
